About Jack

A builder, not an account manager.

Jack Ferrence designs the site, writes the copy, builds the code, launches it, and answers when you call. That is the whole org chart.

The honest version

Technical enough to build it right. Close enough to understand the work.

Jack earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Biola University in 2026 with a 3.65 GPA. He has worked as a freelance web developer since 2025, building and maintaining client sites end to end with React, Next.js, Astro, and Netlify.

That work includes ongoing site maintenance and the unglamorous production problems that matter to a real business—domains, DNS, hosting, and configuration—as well as an interactive product prototype for Global Infrared delivered for a live pitch with a major prospective client.

Before freelancing, Jack managed the Shopify storefront for a new product line during an internship with ArmaJoint, owning the catalog, product pages, navigation, checkout, and live desktop and mobile fixes.

Jack also has firsthand experience running a pressure-washing service business—booking jobs, covering a service area, and keeping customers coming back. That is part of why he builds service-business sites the way he does: a website here is not an art project, it is a tool that needs to make the phone ring.

He also builds his own software. Dobber is a live multiplayer sports-bingo web app. His UFC fight prediction model has hit 69% accuracy against bookmaker odds. Those projects matter here because they require the same habits a good service-business site does: decide what matters, make the interface obvious, and ship something that works.

Jack lives in Newport Beach and works with trades around the same harbor he sees every day. Marine engine work, electrical service, surveying, and hull maintenance are the core specialty. He also works with pool companies, HVAC contractors, landscapers, detailers, inspectors, and other owner-operators across California.

Built outside the classroom

The work behind the website work.

01 / Client delivery

Global Infrared

An interactive product prototype built for a live client pitch, with the visual polish and product logic needed in the room.

02 / Product build

Dobber

A live multiplayer sports-bingo web app—real-time product thinking beyond a static brochure site.

03 / Data project

UFC prediction model

A fight model reaching 69% accuracy against bookmaker odds, built around testing, iteration, and measurable results.

Former decathlete

Ten events. One score.

Before freelance work, Jack competed as an NCAA Division II decathlete and became a PacWest Conference Champion.

The decathlon is an honest sport: preparation shows, weak events count, and the total matters more than any single highlight. That is a useful way to build websites too. Speed, clarity, mobile usability, copy, search setup, and follow-through all have to work together.
